Today we had our 6th and last session of Web 2.0 and focussed on Facebook and Skype. It was a lot to take in especially as the computers were terribly slow but I found Skype quite interesting. The girls Amelia & Cherry who were teaching us were fun and very helpful. As we will follow-up these sessions with fortnightly get-togethers I hope to consolidate further all we've learned so far and thus become more proficient. I especially want to thank Annette for all her cheerful assistance!

Today we learned about igoogle, igoogle maps, where I discovered and looked at my own address and street. It was fascinating to see a photo of my house and the streets surrounding this area. I also tried to go into Kori Agung, Bali, but of course I only managed to see some sawahs. Then we got on to overdrive/downloadable media and finally I got on to the classical music site and listened to Brandenburg concerto no. 4 by J.S. Bach!

Yesterday I had a letter printed in "The Age" re the silly notion by Melbourne City Council to create a "Parisian plage" on the banks of the Yarra. As if we haven't got beaches within a few kilometres! And why not have some original ideas for a change? Our spire looks like a pseudo Eiffel tower and now this so-called brilliant idea! Hopefully it will be voted down.

librarything
Today I started to look at librarything and was dazzled by all the participants - all those millions who are so much more adept than I am, I'm sure!
