Yesterday I had a letter printed in "The Age" re the silly notion by Melbourne City Council to create a "Parisian plage" on the banks of the Yarra. As if we haven't got beaches within a few kilometres! And why not have some original ideas for a change? Our spire looks like a pseudo Eiffel tower and now this so-called brilliant idea! Hopefully it will be voted down.

Hi there, I agree about the artificial beaches, it is just a tram ride to a real beach!
Agree, let's go to a real beach. The fake beach at the arts center during the melb commonwealth games looked silly and didn't really work.
